Mason and Hamlin and Steinway are two of the remaining three American piano makers. Both were founded in the 1800’s and each has had numerous owners through the years.
While not as well knows as Steinway, Mason and Hamlin pianos are and have been an optional choice for the discerning musician. The tone of current production models has been characterized as “typically American – lush, singing and powerful, but with an even more powerful bass and clearer treble”.
This particular piano (s/n: 41715) is a 5′ 8″ model in a satin ebony finish and was manufactured in 1933.
