Gibson1943 LG-2 acoustic guitar. This Gibson LG-2 has seen a bit in its time, but still has lots of good notes left in it. We like to think of a guitar like this as previously loved. The action is quite good for a guitar of this age and it of course has the great tone you would expect from a Gibson from the 1940’s.
Following are the details on this great little guitars. The top on this particular guitar appears to be mahogany with mahogany back and side. The sunburst finished top shows a little wear on the upper bout of the bass side and a couple of nicks closer to the sound hole. You will also find there is a crack in the top running from the bridge towards the end of the guitar on the bass side. Not uncommon for guitars of this age there is a bit of a hump behind the bridge as well. The back and sides also have nicks to the finish and we’ve tried to show these in the photos for your inspection. The back also has a crack on the bass side of the lower bout. You will now find Deluxe tuners in place of the originals which no doubt deteriorated years ago. Frets show very little signs of wear but a new nut would be in order since there is some buzzing on the first three strings in the open position. Factory order number 2194 is stamped on the heal block.
